Accurate Pitch Detection

The Frequency Detector uses a time-domain auto-correlation algorithm to identify the fundamental frequency of monophonic sounds.

Unlike simple frequency analyzers, auto-correlation is especially effective for human voices because it focuses on the fundamental pitch rather than higher harmonics.

Once the frequency is detected, the calculator converts it into the nearest musical note and computes the tuning difference using cents, allowing you to see whether your pitch is sharp or flat.
