VoiceFrequencyTest.com aims to make its tools, educational content, and supporting pages usable by as many people as reasonably possible, including people who use keyboards, screen readers, browser zoom, or other assistive technologies.
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as an accessibility target where practical. The site has not been independently certified as fully conformant with WCAG 2.2 AA.
Our Accessibility Goal
As VoiceFrequencyTest.com develops, we aim to improve accessibility across both written content and interactive tools.
Our goals include:
- clear page structure and headings
- understandable labels and instructions
- keyboard-accessible controls where practical
- visible keyboard focus
- sufficient text and control contrast
- responsive layouts
- useful text alternatives for meaningful images
- understandable error messages
- content that does not rely only on color
- important instructions that do not depend only on sound
Accessibility can vary between pages, tools, devices, browsers, and assistive technologies, so we do not claim that every feature will work identically for every user.
Microphone-Based Voice Tools
Several VoiceFrequencyTest.com tools use live microphone input, including tools for exploring frequency, pitch, vocal range, voice tone, and related acoustic characteristics.
You can browse the available options on the Tools page.
Microphone-based tools may create accessibility challenges because they depend on:
- granting browser or device microphone permission
- producing or supplying an appropriate sound
- monitoring changing results
- interacting with real-time controls
Where practical, instructions and results should also be presented visually and in text rather than relying solely on audio feedback.
For information about how microphone-based tools operate, see How It Works.
Real-Time Results
Some voice tools display frequency, pitch, or other values that update rapidly while the microphone is active.
Rapidly changing values can be difficult for screen-reader users to follow if every update is announced individually.
For this reason, real-time output may not always provide an ideal experience with every assistive technology.
Where a tool provides a stable, summarized, or final result, that output may be easier to review than continuously changing live values.
We aim to improve the way dynamic information is presented as tools are updated.
Keyboard Use
We aim to make important interactive controls usable with a keyboard where practical.
This includes controls such as:
- buttons
- form fields
- selectors
- links
- start and stop controls
Visible focus should help users identify which element is currently selected.
If you encounter a control that cannot be reached or operated with a keyboard, please report it through our Contact page.
Text, Layout, and Zoom
VoiceFrequencyTest.com is designed to work across a range of screen sizes.
We aim to support:
- readable text
- responsive layouts
- browser zoom
- clear spacing
- logical headings
- understandable link text
Some interactive tools may be more complex than standard article pages and may behave differently at extreme zoom levels or on particularly small screens.
If a tool becomes difficult to use, written explanations and other tools may provide an alternative way to access the underlying information.
Images and Visual Information
Meaningful images should include useful text alternatives where appropriate.
Decorative images should not create unnecessary noise for assistive technologies.
Charts, indicators, and tool results should not rely only on color when another clear text or numerical representation can reasonably be provided.
Audio Is Not the Only Source of Information
VoiceFrequencyTest.com contains audio-related tools, but important instructions should not depend only on hearing a sound.
Where practical, tools use:
- text labels
- numerical values
- written instructions
- visual indicators
- final or summarized results
Some microphone-based experiences may still be less convenient for users who cannot rely on auditory feedback. This is a limitation of the current tool design rather than an assumption about what any individual user can or cannot do.
Alternatives to Live Microphone Tools
Not every tool on VoiceFrequencyTest.com depends on live microphone access.
Alternative resources include:
- Words Per Minute Calculator
- Speaking Rate Calculator
- educational articles
- written explanations of voice frequency and pitch
- the FAQ
- How It Works
These resources may be useful when microphone access or rapidly updating audio analysis creates an accessibility barrier.
Forms, Inputs, and Error Messages
Where tools require manual input, we aim to use clear labels and instructions.
Validation and error messages should explain what needs to be corrected rather than relying only on color or visual styling.
VoiceFrequencyTest.com currently uses direct email for contact rather than a website contact form.
Known Accessibility Limitations
Current limitations may include:
- rapidly updating live frequency or pitch values
- browser microphone permission dialogs that are controlled by the browser or operating system
- different behavior between devices and assistive technologies
- complex interactive controls that may be less accessible than ordinary article content
- reliance on live vocal input for some tools
We do not want to hide these limitations behind a claim of complete accessibility.
Instead, we aim to identify barriers, improve them where practical, and provide alternative access to information when possible.
Browser and Device Differences
Accessibility behavior can depend partly on technologies outside the site itself.
Browsers and operating systems control features such as:
- microphone permission dialogs
- browser zoom
- screen-reader interaction
- keyboard behavior
- media permissions
If microphone permission or another technical issue prevents a tool from working, see Troubleshooting.
Ongoing Improvements
Accessibility is an ongoing part of maintaining VoiceFrequencyTest.com.
Pages and tools may be reviewed when:
- layouts or templates change
- tools are redesigned
- accessibility barriers are reported
- browser behavior changes
- new features are introduced
- usability problems are identified
We may use manual review, keyboard testing, browser testing, and user feedback to guide improvements.
We do not currently claim that every page has undergone a formal independent accessibility audit.
Accessibility Standard
Our general accessibility target is informed by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, published by the World Wide Web Consortium.
You can review the standard on the official W3C WCAG 2.2 page.
Using WCAG as a target does not mean every part of VoiceFrequencyTest.com has been certified as conformant.
Accessibility Feedback
If you experience an accessibility barrier, we want to know about it.
Please email:
contact@voicefrequencytest.com
It is helpful, where possible, to include:
- the affected page or tool
- a short description of the problem
- your browser or device
- the assistive technology you were using, if relevant
Accessibility feedback is reviewed as promptly as practical.
