Voice frequency is often discussed online as though a single number can explain everything about how a voice sounds.

In practice, voice is more complex.

Fundamental frequency is an important measurable acoustic property, but two voices with similar fundamental frequencies can still sound very different because of factors such as vocal-tract resonance, spectral characteristics, articulation, and speaking style.

I created VoiceFrequencyTest.com to make voice measurements easier to explore while providing enough context to prevent a number such as Hz from being treated as a complete description of someone’s voice.

The site combines practical tools with educational resources so users can explore both the measurements and the science behind them.
